Yograj Singh the man behind Yuraj Singh‘s success, has yet again taken Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s head on for creating unhealthy environment in the team and giving biased treatment to Yuvraj Singh. It seems former Indian cricket team player and the father of Yuvraj Singh is yet to get over the fact that his son got dropped from the Indian team a couple of years ago.
In India’s last match against Bangladesh, Yuvraj went to the middle after the fall of the fifth wicket which is not his natural position, and his father was furious about it because he didn’t have the opportunity to explore.
He explained the effect of such changes in batting position and said:
“When shuffling happens too often, questions arise in the mind (of the player) and that this is not cricket. A player wonders whether he is needed or not. The captain has to be very careful in what he is dealing with.”
“If he does not like him, he should bloody well tell the selectors about it. If he has got anything personal with him, he can take it out, but by doing this, you are destroying the team. Imagine Yuvraj not bowling on such turning wickets where he has claimed 15 wickets in the 2011 World Cup. The world is watching this.”
He also stressed on the fact that Dhoni has not handed Yuvraj the ball despite turning wickets the team has played on.
Yuvraj was one the heroes in India’s 2011 World Cup winning campaign. The all-rounder was instrumental with both bat and ball and ended up grabbing the Man of the Series award. However, this World T20 his bowling services have not been used much. The left arm spinner has bowled only 14 overs in 14 matches, claiming four wickets at an economy rate of 6.71.
With all these negative comments what is Yograj Singh trying to prove to MS Dhoni? Have something to share, please post your comments!
Yograj Singh is just a concerned father, so his comments against Dhoni must be taken in the right spirit. Preferably Black Label.
