Xiaomi working on a new 6.4-inch phablet, said to be called the Max. The Xiaomi Max is Xiaomi’s upcoming phablet slated for a May release as per a GSMArena report . The company recently held an online poll wherein it asked participants to name their future Xiaomi phablet. The name Xiaomi Max apparently made the cut. Xiaomi Max might be a phablet and not a regular-sized smartphone. Three capacitive buttons at the bottom along with earpiece and sensor cutouts on top are also visible. Rumors suggests that although there is no physical home button with fingerprint sensor in the front like seen in the Mi 5.
Xiami Max will feature a 6.4-inch display with at least full HD (1920×1080) resolution, a metal body, and a Snapdragon 820 SoC. And while there doesn’t seem to be anything on the front other than the standard hard buttons, front camera, speaker, and sensor, the Max is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner on the back, similar to the Mi 4s and the Redmi Note 3.
Xiaomi is also working on the Mi Note 2, and as many as two variants of the flagship phone may be in the making. The rumoured Mi Note 2 may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 823 processors, coupled with 4GB and a whopping 6GB of RAM respectively. Internal memory may start at 32GB and go all the way up to 256GB. It is said to offer a 5.7-inch QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, a 16-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX295 sensor) on the rear with optical image stabilization along with a 5-megapixel camera on the front and a 3,600mAh battery inside. The Mi Note 2 will likely be priced at about 2,999 Yuan (which roughly translates to Rs 30,000).
