The Veteran Gujarati writer, humorist, columnist and playwright Taarak Mehta passed away at the age of 87. The writer of Taarak Mehta who inspired the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is no more. Today morning in Ahmadabad he passed away after he was ill. Taarak Mehta has gathered a huge popularity for his column Duniya Ne Undha Chasma in Gujarati language, and he was honored with Padma Shri. The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal mourned his death.
From past eight years the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is running on TV. Many of the fans have consoled his death on Twitter. Shailesh Lodha who plays Taarak Mehta on the show said to Bollywoodlife, “His death has left a huge void in our lives. It will be tough to replace him and this vacuum that has been created. Taarak Mehta’s death is a great loss not only for the Gujarati community but India’s literary circuit. It is a loss for readers, a loss for the literary community who looked up to him for inspiration. I am yet to get over this news.”
Jethalal, Dilip Joshi said, “I just heard the news. We are also busy finishing our episodes, and suddenly we got to know he’s no more. It’s extremely sad. But we knew he was not keeping well. It’s also mostly because of old age. He was suffering a lot, especially in the last few months. But this news has shocked the entire team. Everyone is extremely sad now.”
As soon as the news was out on Wednesday, his fans twitted and mourned his death.
