Wrestler Sakshi Malik, who made country proud by winning a bronze medal at Rio Olympics 2016, is all set to get married with wrestler Satyawart Kadian, who hails from Rohtak, had represented India at the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympics and then represented India in Commonwealth Games. He won bronze and silver medals respectively at the events.
Sakshi’s brother Sachin told India Today, “It was decided before Sakshi left for Rio Olympics that they will get married.”
Satyawart Kadian also hails from a family of wrestlers and his father Satyawan also represented India at international events. His father also runs an akhada in Rohtak. Satyawart Kadian’s father Satyawan said: “Sakshi and Satyawart are getting married and it will be a huge affair. Satyawart trains here in my akhada when he is not competing or in the national camp.”
Satyawart Kadian was one of the first to congratulate Sakshi Malik on Facebook, after she clinched India’s first medal in Rio.
Sakshi Malik, who became the first woman wrestler to won a bronze medal in Olympics. Satyawart Kadian, who is also an international level wrestler, won silver at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and bronze at the Incheon Asian Games.
