Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was left blushing after a woman placed a peck on his cheek at a public event meeting in Bengaluru on Sunday. The incident happened at a programme organised by the Karnataka Pradesh Kuruba Sangha to felicitate the newly elected members of zilla panchayats and taluk panchayats, at the palace grounds here.
A woman in Bengaluru recently did something very uncommon by kissing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during an event.
A Taluk Panchayat (TP) member from Tarikere in Chikkamagaluru district walked up to him smiling and planted a kiss on his cheek in full public view. During a state-level programme of Kuruba Community, Girija Srinivas, Tarikere Taluk Panchayat member from Amruthapura in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, was standing right next to CM Siddaramaiah for a group photo.
Speaking to a TV channel, the woman said she was happy that the Chief Minister was also a Kuruba, and called him a “lion of the community. I was overjoyed by the fact that I was standing next to him. My family and I have always called him “Appaji” (father).”
“I was a big fan of CM since my schooldays. I met him for the first time. I could not control the excitement and I kissed him.”
