Mumbai Indians players Harbhajan Singh and Ambati Raydu were involved in an ugly on-field argument during their match against Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League 2016 on Sunday. The incident took place in the 11th over of the Rising Pune Supergiants innings when a diving Ambati Rayudu couldn’t prevent a boundary off Harbhajan’s bowling in the deep. The misfield frustrated Harbhajan Singh and he shouted at the fielder Ambati Raydu.
Harbhajan Singh not happy with Ambati Rayudu effort, Harbhajan Singh was seen abusing his team-mate which sparked the altercation between the two players. Ambati Rayudu also was in no mood to let it go as he gave him back and charged towards his senior partner to counter him. However, Harbhajan Singh showed maturity to pacify Rayudu before the situation would have gotten out of control. But the both Harbhajan Singh and Ambati Raydu soon patched up as they celebrated with each other when Harbhajan dismissed Peter Handscomb in his next over.
In the first edition of IPL, Harbhajan Singh had slapped pacer S Sreesanth after Mumbai Indians’ defeat to Kings XI Punjab. And Ambati Rayudu has also had past history of such on-field fight. In the year 2010, Harbhajan Singh was fined $15,000 by match referee Gundappa Viswanath for his outburst directed at batsman T Suman after dismissing him.
Harbhajan Singh and Ambati Rayudu patched up as they celebrated with each other when Harbhajan dismissed Peter Handscomb in his over.
