Indian star batsman Virat Kohli has confirmed that he had approached former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori for the post of coach of Indian cricket team. Virat Kohli captains Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League and Daniel Vettori is the coach of the RCB, and there had been unconfirmed reports over the past few days that the India Test captain Virat Kohli had asked Daniel Vettori about his views if he were to be offered the post of coach of Indian cricket team role.

Virat Kohli was quoted as saying by The Times of India, “I don’t see it as a controversy at all. All these things do come up in a scenario when you have to appoint someone (coach). I don’t know how it has come out now. I spoke to him a while back. We have spoken to a few other people as well and everyone knows about it.”

Ravi Shastri’s contract as the Team Director for the India ended after the ICC World T20, BCCI have been on the lookout to appoint a new individual as the coach of the Indian cricket team.

Virat Kohli has confirmed that he has asked former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori for coaching Team India.
