Indian boxing star Vijender Singh, who has registered his sixth consecutive win in the professional boxing fight. Vijender Sing defeated Poland’s Andrzej Soldra on Friday. The London Olympics bronze medalist Andrzej Soldra of Poland by technical knockout in three brutal rounds in a Super Middleweight contest at the Macron Stadium here on Friday evening. Vijender Singh was off to a tremendous start in the first round even as Soldra wanted to take the attack to him in few early moves.
Vijender said after the fight, “When I entered the ring, the coach told me to be patient and he came to me and I could play my game. Every fight is important for me and I don’t think there is any relaxation. By winning first eight round fight, my confidence level has really gone up and this is a step forward heading towards the title fight.”
Andrzej Soldra came into the fight against Vijender with a record of 12 wins with five knockouts from 16 fights. The Polish boxer hand the experience of 81 rounds under his belt and this fight against Vijender was his first fight abroad. Soldra also held an excellent amateur record, with 82 wins from 98 fights.
Vijender finds great momentum ahead of the home fight for the World Boxing Association (WBO) Asia title in New Delhi next month.
