Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty’s father Veerappa Shetty passed away at the age of 93 on Wednesday early morning. Veerappa Shetty was admitted at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai as he was ill, there he took his last breath. As per the reports, his last rites will be done today. Father of Sunil, Veerappa was a self-made hotelier and was survived by his wife, daughter Sujata and Bollywood actor son Sunil Shetty. Veerappa Shetty passed away around 1:30 AM on Wednesday.
There is a report that in 2013 Mr. Veerappa had suffered a massive paralytic stroke. After that, an entire ICU was set up at his South Mumbai house for the treatment. This was the time when Sunil’s daughter Athiya Shetty was preparing for her Bollywood debut. It is said that due to Sunil’s father illness he let his acting career take a back seat. In the past he said, his father is his real hero, and nothing is more important than him. Sunil continued their hotelier business.

In the year 2014, Sunil said, “I haven’t had a proper night’s sleep for three months now. It’s a very mixed kind of feeling for me. On the one hand, my daughter Aathiya is getting ready for her film career. On the other hand, my father is very unwell. So the excitement of Aathiya’s debut is sadly diminished. At the moment we’re all focusing on looking after my father.”
Veerapa was a self-made man as he started working at the age of nine. He built an empire as an hotelier. Sunil was running his father’s business of hotels. We can say Sunil Shetty is more successful hotelier than an actor.
At present Athiya Shetty is out of the country to shoot her movie Mubarakan.
We give all our Sympathy to Shetty family. May his soul Rest In Peace.
