Raksha Bandhan is worldwide considered and celebrated as a festival of bonding and relationship between brothers and sisters. This event is not religion specific. But against all this, Indian star cricketer Irfan Pathan is once again in the news in the context of Raksha Bandhan festival. On the day, Irfan Pathan tied rakhi on his wrist and shared the picture on different social media platforms like Facebook & Instagram.

Only a few minutes later, he was ready to be trolled on religious grounds. He found himself at the receiving end for sharing the picture of celebrating so called Hindu festival. It is seen to be shamed him for not following the rules of Islam by Muslim scholars as few of the replies said that his father is a moulvi (preacher) but he is practicing un-Islamic things.

Just last month only, Irfan Pathan had to face intense trolling on religious grounds when he had shared a picture with his wife. In the picture, his wife was shamed for revealing her arms to the public and wearing nail polish which was considered to a non-Islamic approach.

The same kind of incidents is not new, cricketer Mohammed Shami was also attacked on social media a number of times. Recently, he was under the scanner for posting ‘un-Islamic’ pictures of his daughter’s birthday while back in 2016, he was preached by Muslim fanatics when he was trolled for posting a picture with his wife wherein she was wearing a sleeveless dress.

What’s more, former cricketer Mohammad Kaif was recently attacked when he posted a picture of himself playing chess with his son and there also, comments were targeted to tell that playing chess was a non-Muslim practice. Mohammad Kaif was also trolled for doing the Yoga activity, Surya Namaskar.
