The idea of travelling from India to UK and back was their own. Louis and Janet D’souza has started travelling from Mumbai on 20 May 2016 and has travelled 52 countries in the next eight months.
Some of the countries they have travelled to are, Myanmar, China, Russia, Latvia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, the U.K., France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Malta, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Louis told said, “Since our retirement and starting our own logistics business, we have been too busy to explore the world as much as we would have wanted to.”

Before this trip, Louis and Janet have travelled 3000 km while travelling to South India. Janet said,“First of all, we both love driving. We were told that our trip could be dangerous and that we were crazy to do this. In fact, even our children were reluctant to let us go considering our age and the dangers that we could come across crossing so many different country borders, especially since we were driving”.
Louis and Janet have also donated Rs. 10 per km that they travel to two NGOs – Muskaan Sharing Smiles and White Doves. In this journey, they ended up collecting around 6 Lakhs, and 5.5 Lakh was their donation.

Louis said,“We have spent enough time on our children and our business. I think it’s time we took some time off and did what we had always wanted to do with our lives and do it together.” Janet added,“Language was a bit of a hurdle, but we managed with Google translate and sign language.”
Now, the couple is planning their next trip in this year, and they will go New Zealand, and Australia followed by another trip from Cairo to Cape Town.
The couple has decided to spend their retirement in a different way then the other people. They took a car journey from India to back to the UK and all they did it for charity.
