According to the reports, it was seen that on the most bustling streets MG Road and Brigade road of the city there were thousand of men were molesting thousands of girls on the street on Saturday even when there was a large number of police deployed in those areas.
Bengaluru police said that they will be patrolling the city so that New Year will be an incident free celebration. Instead of 1500 being positioned in that area, men on bikes, cars and also on foot came and outnumbered those women. The police just remained as a on-looker and interfered only periodically, but those men still continued their hooliganism. According to the reports, women removed their stilettos and ran for help.
Om Prakash, Karnataka DGP said that there were more 25 CCtv cameras have been installed and their footage will be examined and action will be taken against the culprits. Earlier, the police said that they were no complaints lodged for molestations or eve teasing. The celebration for New year was extended uptil 2 am, especially because of the pressure of the commercial segment.
