Tahira Kashyap is a director of short films like “Toffee and Pinni”. In an interview, Tahira says, she needs to earn a position to direct her husband Ayushmann Khurrana. As Tahira’s feature film is on the way, she will not approach her hubby Ayushmann to star. Tahira feels Ayushmann is her “senior” in the film industry, and she needs to reach that position to cast him in any film
In 2018, Tahira directed her first short film Toffee. In the interview with Times of India, Tahira said, she wants to direct a full-fledged feature film and half of the script is also ready. She also said, “I am taking baby steps. and I am slowly moving towards directing the film.”
“He Is Senior To Me When It Comes To Working”: Tahira Kashyap On Directing Ayushmann Khurrana
In the interview, when Tahira was asked if she likes to direct Ayushmann, she said, “I would love to work with him from the perspective of directing a wonderful artist. He has grown tremendously as an artist. But at the same time, he is senior to me when it comes to working. So I need to earn myself a couple of films or a position where I deserve to direct him.”
Further, she adds and says, she is not sure how their equation will be on the set, as they are husband and wife too.
“I am also fretting because I don’t know how it would be because we are husband and wife too. So I don’t know how the situation will be like- will there be fireworks on the set or we would be able to maintain the absolute director-actor decorum. That is something we would get to know,” she said.
At present, Tahira and Ayushmann are isolating with their two children. During the lockdown time, Tahira has started a series “The Lockdown Tales”. It is a short story written by herself.
