Indian Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday had been admitted to the All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) as she has been on dialysis after suffering from kidney failure. Sushma Swaraj informed public of her health through micro-blogging site Twitter as she wrote that she was undergoing tests and is under a process of dialysis and she even seeks blessings from lord Krishna in her tweet.
Sushma Swaraj is presently on dialysis and is undergoing test for a kidney transplant.
The 64-year-old is reportedly a diabetic and was in hospital briefly in October for respiratory problems. In April, Swaraj was admitted to AIIMS after she complained of chest congestion. She was discharged after being treated for fever and pneumonia symptoms. Her non-appearance was noticed during visits by Prime Minister of New Zealand ‘John Key’ and during visit of foreign minister of Nepalese ‘Prakash Sharan Mahat’ in late October.
Swaraj is well known to be a regular on Twitter to resolve problems brought to her notice by Indians immigrant in distress.
Sushma Swaraj was admitted at AIIMS on November 7 under the supervision of Balram Airan at the cardio-neuro centre. Not only this but also a team of doctors are monitoring her. As reported by Hindustan Times AIIMS doctors said that her condition is stable now and her diabetes, which was persisting from a long time has affected her kidney functioning and she is on dialysis.
She has been suffering from diabetes for almost 20 years. Sushma Swaraj was also admitted to AIIMS in April as she underwent treatment for pneumonia. Since Sushma Swaraj has taken over as Foreign Minister in May 2014, Swaraj has made some 45 overseas visits.
