Pakistan Cricket Captain Shahid Afridi, despite facing many problems for his comments on support from Kashmiris, has once again mentioned Kashmir in his post match comments after they lost World Twenty20 match against Australia in Mohali.

Shahid Afridi said in the post match presentation:

“I want to thank the people of Kolkata (a previous World T20 match against India) for supporting us. I thank people who came and supported us from Pakistan and Kashmir. I also want to thank the BCCI for taking good care of us in India.”

In the previous match against New Zealand, Afridi had similarly thanked supporters from Kashmir during the toss, a comment that was criticized by BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur.

Anurag Thakur said that Afridi’s comment:

“To give a statement like that is not politically correct. A player should stay away from all this. That’s the reason why he was criticized in Pakistan.”

Pakistan were knocked out of the ongoing World Twenty20 after losing their Group 2 game to Australia by 21 runs here on Friday. They started with a victory over Bangladesh but were then beaten by New Zealand, India and Australia.
