Sania Mirza – Shoaib Malik’s TV commercial that is trending in India As well as Pakistan!

Sania Mirza – Shoaib Malik’s latest television commercial has gone viral in  India As well as Pakistan. In the short Nestle Every Day commercial, the duo is seen having opposite views on everything from sweets to cricket. So when an advertisement featuring the most popular cross-border sports couple, Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in their domestic element hit the internet, it was bound to go viral .

The ad in question is for Nestle Everyday and features the couple disagreeing over simple things (like most couples) and arguing over which country is better (like most Indians and Pakistanis, no doubt.)

So while Sania roots for Sachin Tendulkar’s straight drive, her husband is all for Shoaib Akhtar’s yorker, she prefers Amritsar ke laddu, he thinks Multan ka soan halwa is better, she says old Hindi songs, he says Pakistan pop songs and so on.

So when do they finally agree? Of course, when they both decide that the product advertised is the best, on both sides of the border.

The ad could not have come at a more opportune time with the ICC World T20 being held in India, as is evident from the one lakh plus hits it has received on YouTube at the time this was being written.
With the much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash on Saturday, 19 March, one wonders if this agreeable phase will last long. After all it is not a secret that Sania supports India when it comes to cricket. Ahead of the Asia Cup T20 clash between the two last month, Malik was quoted by an NDTV report as saying, “We maintain the same status. She supports Team India and wants her husband to do well, perform well in the middle if he is playing.”

Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik’s cross-border marriage in 2010 made headlines due to the long-standing rivalry between the two countries. While Mirza is the current the world number one in tennis doubles, Malik is the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team.
