Salman Khan who’s currently busy with Sultan has been approached to play the negative role in ‘Dhoom 4‘ and ‘Race 3′. Salman Khan has tried his hands at all sorts of genres and has played various characters in his career so far. But, he has never played a villain in any of his movies. Though he played a criminal in ‘Kick’, but there was no evil shade to his character Devi Lal Singh. Speculations are rife that he may soon be playing the role of a baddie in his future projects.
According to reports, the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actor has been approached to play the baddie in the next installments of hit franchise ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Race’. A source revealed, “Salman wants to play a cool, stylish villain. He has never played one before. His negative role in Race 3 is almost finalised, but discussions are still on with Aditya Chopra for Dhoom:4. The issue is a financial one where Salman wants a stake in D:4, just like Aamir had in Dhoom:3. Salman wants the same profit-sharing ratio that was offered to the D:3 star. Once that is finalised, he’s on”.
But a source close to Ramesh S. Taurani, who has bankrolled the first two instalments of ‘Race’, reported that the cast of the third instalment is yet-to-be decided. He said, “The scripting for ‘Race 3‘ is still on and no cast is finalised as yet, including the directors”. We will soon get to know whether the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star will be seen as an antagonist or not, but the news has certainly got his fans excited.
What’s interesting to note is if Salman approves any of the two films, it would be his first as an anti-hero. In an illustrious 27-year-long career in films, the superstar has never essayed a character with negative shades. His peer Shah Rukh Khan has done it as many as seven times: in “Baazigar,” “Darr,” “Anjaam,” “Duplicate,” “Don,” “Don 2” and “Fan.”
