Salman Khan is all set for his next production based on the life of Indian-American, Somen Banerjee who founded the erotic dance night club in U.S known as ‘Chippendales’ better known for its male striptease erotic dance performances.

As reports by BollywoodHungama.com, Amar Butala, CEO of Salman Khan Productions revealed that they have plans to create not just a feature film but also a mini-series on Somen Banerjee considering the intriguing nature of his life. He added that his life story had all elements and shades of a gangster film including greed, power and violence.

While talking to Bombay Times, Salman Khan confirmed about the movie and said, [mks_highlight color=”#eeee22″]”A Bengali man, who moved from India to America in the late 60s, struggled and created one of America’s most iconic brands. We are going to tell the story of Somen Banerjee, a man driven by fierce ambition, on celluloid.”[/mks_highlight]

Somen father was a printer and his hard work got him to the US. He worked at a gas station and at a backgammon club back then. He later bought a failed Night Club and turned it into a revenue making business. Somen’s night club featured many exotic activities and It was the first of its kind in the United States. Later, with the help of his partners, Somen founded the Chippendales dancing troupe. But in 1990 – 1991, Somen’s life took a drastic turn when he was charged with plotting to kill a former Chippendales dancer and not only this he was also charged with plotting the murder of two other ex members of Chippendales who Banerjee felt were competition and Somen was eventually pleaded guilty and got 26 years in prison. and in 1994, Somen’s body was found in his cell.
