Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador for the Indian contingent at the Rio Olympics in 2016. This is the first time that a Bollywood superstar will be a goodwill ambassador for the national squad for as big an event like the Summer Olympics. India will be represented by names like Kavita Raut, Sanjeev Rajput, Mary Kom, Jitu Rai, Yogeshwar Dutt, Hardeep, SSP Chwrasia, and Dipa Karmarkar.
Salman Khan recently unveiled a teaser of his movie ‘Sultan’, where he will be essaying the role of a wrestler. India have been building quite a competent contingent for he Games, with several top names having made the cut in many sports. Salman Khan was seen during the Pro Kabaddi League matches last year and even sung the national anthem during the opening leg of the event.
Salman Khan has been named as the Goodwill Ambassador for Indian contingent at Rio Olympics 2016. The official announcement on the same is still awaited.

Rio Olympics is scheduled to commence on August 5 and end on August 21.
