Rishi Kapoor on Tuesday snapped at the political system of India and the Gandhi family. In a series of posts on Twitter, Rishi Kapoor has taken on Gandhi family, slamming them for naming many properties and assets in India after them. Rishi Kapoor Tweets, “We must name important assets of the country who have contributed to society. Har cheez Gandhi ke naam? I don’t agree. Sochna log!”

Rishi has been winning fans on Twitter, which he joined in 2010 but got active only a few months ago with his against and charming self. And has often created storms online with his frank and outspoken tweets. The veteran actor then asked for suggestion from people on whether or not the names can be after film personalities like Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Ashok Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and others.

Rishi Kapoor suggested that roads and buildings named by the Congress after members of the Gandhi family be re-titled.

Rishi Tweets, “If roads in Delhi can be changed, why not Congress assets/property?” He was referring to Minister of State for External Affairs Gen VK Singh’s proposal that Akbar Road in the capital be renamed after Maharana Pratap. Aurangzeb Road has already been rechristened Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road. He suggested that roads in Mumbai be similarly renamed after Lata Mangeshkar and JRD Tata and offered several alternatives from the film industry, among them Amitabh Bachchan, Mohd Rafi and his father Raj Kapoor.

Making no effort in hiding his displeasure, Rishi Kapoor asked, ‘Baap ka maal samajh rakha tha kya?’

Kapoor questioned why major landmarks in the country have been named only after the Gandhis. He urged his followers to give this a serious thought.

For Kapoor, significant Indian properties should be named after people who have made real contributions to the society.

Kapoor even suggested changing the name of Film City and have it re-named after highly successful celebrities.

He kept giving his fans suggestions and urged them to further ponder over what he was saying.

Kapoor even hinted that the IGI Airport in New Delhi could be re-named to his own, making it extremely clear that he wants the Gandhi name to be removed.
