Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath took a hat-trick as Australia was bowled out for 106 in the first innings of the second test on Friday. Rangana Herath dismissed Adam Voges, Peter Nevill and Mitchell Starc on consecutive deliveries at Galle. Herath became only the second Sri Lanka bowler to achieve the feat. Earlier, pacer Nuwan Joysa was the first Lankan to claim a hat-trick in Tests.
Sri Lanka are currently playing a home series of three Tests against Australia team. Sri Lanka’s first-innings score of 281 on day 1 with all the home players being taken out the field. Australia started off with a good form as David Warner’s aggressive batting put some important score for the Australians, until he was taken out by Dilruwan Perera.
Rangana Herath is the second Sri Lankan bowler after Nuwan Joysa to claim a Test hat-trick.
After Rangana Herath‘s heroic the Sri Lankan team wrapped up Australia’s first innings at 106 in 33.2 overs. This is Australia’s lowest total in Sri Lanka which has always struggled on Sri Lankan ground.
