Randeep Hooda has already proved his capabilities in his last release Sarbjit, is all set to take on new challenges in Battle of Saragarhi. The films are based on the Battle of Saragarhi, that took place in 1897 between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen in the North-West Frontier Province.
Randeep Hooda, who will be seen playing the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, the military commander of the 36th Sikhs in Santoshi’s film.
Randeep Hooda shared his first look on Twitter.
The film will represent the true story of the 19th century battle when around 12,000 Afghans attacked a British Indian contingent, which also comprised 21 Sikhs who went on to become the heroes of the mission.
As part of his preparation, Randeep Hooda will study Sikh history, learn sword-fighting and vintage-rifle shooting in the next 45 days.
