Priyanka Chopra has won The Dadasaheb Phalke award for her role as Kashibai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Bajirao Mastani. This will be Priyanka’s second award from the Foundation after she received her first one for ‘Most Memorable Performance’ in 2011 for her role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie ‘Saath Khoon Maaf’.
The Dadasaheb Film Foundation will honor Priyanka with the Best Actress of the Year Award on the 147th Dadasaheb Phalke Jayanti. The ceremony will be held in Mumbai on April 24. Priyanka Chopra has also been awarded with Padma Shri this year. She also became the first South Asian actor to win People’s Choice Awards for her American TV show ‘Quantico’. The Baywatch actor has gone that extra mile to achieve the success and she even went on to present the Oscars this year.

Priyanka made her debut in Bollywood with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy in 2003. The film also starred actors Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. In the same year, she also starred in Andaaz, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta. In 2015, she made her television debut with American thriller series ‘Quantico’ in which she plays the lead role of Alex Parrish.
