A picture of NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal has gone viral on social media because of the severe change in his appearance. The former deputy CM of Maharashtra is seen sitting on a wheelchair, while reportedly waiting for a CT scan at the St George’s Hospital in Mumbai. Chhagan Bhujbal has reportedly lost 10 kgs since his arrest in March. He is seen with a full grown white beard and a very frail look in the picture.
Chhagan Bhujbal, arrested in an alleged money laundering case was sent to Arthur road jail. On April 18, he was admitted to ICU in Mumbai’s St. George hospital after he complained of severe chest pain and high blood pressure. Chhagan Bhujbal, who initially complained of a toothache, was to be taken from jail to a dental hospital, but was then sent to St George’s hospital where he complained of a chest pain and is now admitted. However the dean of JJ Hospital in his report said that Chhagan Bhujbal who suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure required to be in ICU.
Before being brought to the St George’s Hospital, Chhagan Bhujbal was lodged in anda cell of Arthur Road Jail. This anda cell was built during Bhujbal’s term as the PWD minister.

The former PWD minister and his nephew and former MP Samir Bhujbal are in judicial custody till April 27. The ED had filed two FIRs against Bhujbal, his son and nephew among others under the provisions of PMLA, based on Mumbai Police FIRs, to probe the Delhi-based Maharashtra Sadan construction scam and the Kalina land grabbing case.
