Pakistani social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch was allegedly shot dead by her brother in Multan city on Saturday. The controversial model’s brother “to protect the family honour” had been threatening her over Facebook posts and messages, police officials were quoted as saying.

Qandeel Baloch real name was Fouzia Azeem but she chose Qandeel Baloch as her nickname after stepping into modelling. She had received threats from her family to quit modelling and her provocative appearances on social media. Qandeel Baloch brother had been threatening her for posting bold videos and statements on Facebook.


Qandeel Baloch was reportedly receiving death threats and had asked for security from interior ministry. As reported by Dawn, he brother was threatening her for posting videos and pictures on social media.

Qandeel Baloch was reportedly planning to settle down abroad and had told the Express Tribune: “I know I will not be provided security and I am not feeling secured here so have decided to move abroad with my parents after Eidul Fitr.”

Qandeel Baloch, who claims to be a social media sensation in Pakistan, was also in news recently for clicking a selfie with a Mufti who lost membership of a religious body because of that.
