Free entry for the fans has been announced on Wednesday by ACA (Andhra Cricket Association) on the opening ceremony of the second test match between India vs England. And the Association says that if everything goes well on the first day then the free entry will go on all the days.
As reported by Deccan Chronicle ACA secretary G Gangaraju said that it was in the first time in the history on the cricket match in Vizag that they want to see the stadium full of audience but they cannot ahead with the plan due to security fear. they will see if it goes well on the first day they will continue on the remaining days of the match.
The sales of the ticket has gone low because of the demonetization of the 500 and 1000 rupee notes and due to which the number of audience has fallen. Still the secretary is hoping that atleast 10,000 cricket fans will turn up for the match out of which 5000 will be children who will be brought from different part of the city, and the children will be excited to watch a live match for the first time in the stadium of Vizag which has a capacity stadium of 28,000 people.
Former India’s wicketkeeper MSK Prasad said that it was one of the biggest moment for ACA and the happiest day as the association was established in 1953. Deccan Chronicle also reported that CK Nayudu to Gangaraju, they have put a lot of effort and worked hard and it was a fantastic journey and its a biggest day for the Andhra Cricket Association.
The venue was formally granted test when the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh uncovered the plaque which was followed by the felicitation ceremony of the Indian players who were now a part of the commentary team.
Vizag stadium has made one memorable year by hosting one T20, one ODI and six IPL matches at very short notice.
