National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) has given a clean chit to Narsingh Yadav from doping charges and allowed him to participate in the Rio Olympics. Narsingh Yadav mentioned that the failed test was the result of a conspiracy by his opponents to stop him from participating in the Olympics.
NADA DG Naveen Agarwal said “We kept in mind that in the past, till June 2, none of his samples were positive. It was inconceivable that one-time ingestion would be of benefit. Therefore the panel is of the view that the one-time ingestion was not intentional”
Narsingh had failed a second dope test on Wednesday after which was conducted on him on July 5. He was already under provisional suspension for failing a June 25 dope test. July 29 was the original hearing, but after 8 hours of deliberation they decided to resume on August 1 as there were too many documents to assess.
Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said he was sure Narsingh will fly to Rio to participate in the Games. Narsingh had filed an FIR at the Sonepat Police Station naming two fellow wrestlers for having mixed something in his food supplements at the Sports Authority of India facility in Sonepat. The NADA panel on Sunday summoned two cooks at the Sports Authority of India facility facility on the request of Narsingh’s lawyer Vidushpat Singhania.
Meanwhile, Narsingh Yadav came up in a interview to thank all his supporters for supporting him until his judgement-day and finally getting a positive result – “I want to congratulate Rajeev Mehta and the Indian media,” said Singh “I am sure Narsingh Yadav will go to Rio and win a medal for India.”
