Prime Minister Narendra Modi on occasion of Holi started following 143 twitter handles through his personal twitter account @NarendraModi. Mostly Indian political leaders across the spectrum. He now follows 1371 handles while he has 18,820,151 followers. Narendra Modi started following political opponents Rahul Gandhi, Digvijay Singh, Ahmed Patel, Shashi Tharoor, Captain Amrinder Singh, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Jagan Mohan Reddy, Party Detractor Shatrughan Sinha are among them.
More significantly, he followed the photo-parody account @RealHistoryPics that have not held back any punches in poking fun at the expense of the high and mighty in India, including the Prime Minister. Sources in his team confirmed that nearly 150 accounts were followed by Mr. Modi, “just because of Holi” and the spirit it invokes.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reacted to his addition in Modi’s ‘following’ list and tweeted: “[email protected] Sir, thank u for following me. Happy Holi. आज गिले शिकवे भूलने का दिन है। Hope better Centre-Delhi cooperation in future.”

In a series of tweets in Hindi, Sisodia thanked Modi for following him on Twitter and urged him to ensure the clearance of bills passed in the last one year by the Delhi Assembly.
“Narendra Modi sir thanks for following. I convey my greetings on Holi. Making a modest request for people in Delhi. All bills passed by Delhi Assembly in past one year are stuck with Home Ministry, please pass them. Delhi shall be thankful for that,” he tweeted.
The message was later retweeted by Kejriwal.

Will this new Twitter parley improve relationship between these two extremely popular leaders? Only time will tell.
