Sushant Singh Rajput unveiled the teaser of his new Bollywood film “M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story”, a biopic on Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
In the teaser, one can hear Sushant’s voice over as he takes orders from his seniors as a ticket collector, and also can be heard is former Indian cricketer and director for the Indian cricket team Ravi Shastri’s commentary during the final of the 2011 World Cup when Dhoni won India its second World Cup.
As the title says, this is MS Dhoni’s untold story, the years of hard work which went into making him an overnight success. As Sushant gets instructions as a TC on his first day of work, we see the same iron glint in his eyes and the confident walk that has become the Indian captain’s prerogative on field.
As per reports, this decision as taken by the selection committee after some of the selectors happened to see shooting of Dhoni’s biopic where Sushant is playing the role of Indian captain MS Dhoni.
Earlier, India lost their first match of the tournament to New Zealand and Indian batting was widely criticized by everyone. As per BCCI, Sushant’s selection will bolster the batting in addition to providing a reserve wicket keeper in case Dhoni gets injured during the tournament.
ICC rules don’t allow for a change during the tournament but as per sources, BCCI had threatened to switch off flood lights during the next match in case their demand to add a player was not met by the ICC.
hen asked whether Sushant’s lack of experience will be a problem, the selector replied, “Bhai he not only played but coached in Kai Po Che and is playing again during Dhoni. He already has a career longer than Hardik Pandya or Jaspreet Bumrah.
