Just a day before the warm up match against Sri Lanka, Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Sami injured his foot during a practice session here in Kolkata, local media reported on Sunday. Sami was hit by a ball that resulted in the injury. According to details, however, the decision to let him play will be announced after medical examination.

Pakistan media manager Agha Akbar said:

“Sami was hit by a delivery of a net-bowler while batting late in the training session”

Team source also said:

“Sami’ injury isn’t that serious, initial reports have ruled out any fracture to his toe and he is expected to be fully recovered from the injury in couple of days”

Pakistan and Sri Lanka will clash today Monday in the ICC World T20 2016 warm up match at Eden Garden Kolkata. Though, both team are fairly equal as far as their batting woes are concerned, but Pakistan have clear edge in the bowling department. This can be an interesting match to watch, which can provide Pakistan a good practice before they take on Asia Cup finalist teams, Bangladesh and India on the same venue.

Mohammad Sami is not completely fit and he needs couple of days to get his fitness back. Team management revealed that Mohammad Sami will be available for important match of International Cricket Council ICC Cricket World Cup 2016, Pakistan vs India that is schedule to play at Eden Garden on March 19.
