On 2nd October Sunday night terrorists attacked a paramilitary camp in north Kashmir in Baramulla killing one Jawan and injuring another. As per reports Militants lobbed grenades on the army camp. It is believed that there were about three to four Terrorists involved in the indecent and they later escaped after an intense two-hour gun battle. The area was isolated for hours and highways were sealed as security forces launched search operations for the attackers.
Just two weeks before 18 soldiers were killed from in a terrorist attack in URI. The situation was later under control after two hours of gun firing between Indian army and Militants. Bramulla is 54 km from Srinagar and attack started around 10.30 pm.
Baramulla police said, the attack started when the terrorists was trying to come through public park near the camp but they were stopped. Terrorists attacked 46 Rashtriya Rifles camp and Border Security Force camp in two groups around 10.30 pm. There was a noise of heavy firing and loud blasts. The terrorists are suspected to have entered India across the Jhelum river.
The martyred soldier has been identified as Constable Nitin and the injured soldier is Constable Pulwinder. Both are from the 40th battalion of the BSF, as reports in TOI. Last week on Thursday the Indian Army were on Surgical strikes against teams of Pakistan terrorists. They couldn’t recover any militant body but the search operation is going on.
