Mahindra & Mahindra today replaced its struggling compact SUV Quanto with the NuvoSport. The NuvoSport comes in six variants starting Rs 7.35 lakh for the base N4 variant, while the top variant N8 AMT costs Rs 9.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is stacked in competition against Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

The NuvoSport is better to look at than the Quanto, especially from the front which has a distinctive SUV-like stance unlike the Quanto that looked way too similar to the Xylo to appeal to those wanting a compact SUV. Head on, it looks more modern and sporty, especially with the unique design of the LED DRLs that sit independently above the headlights and also the wide, vertical slatted grille and air scoop on the hood.

The compact utility vehicle is powered by a 1,493cc diesel engine which is also seen on the TUV300. The vehicle can generate peak power of 100bhp. M&M has not given the Nuvosport a petrol option for now. Except for the entry level (N4) all the other variants have driver and passenger airbags and ABS with EBD for safety. The top two variants get a 6.2 inch infotainment system and intellipark reverse assist.
