Among all the nations, India is a cricket loving nation. For Indians, cricket is not only a game but also a religion. Keeping this in mind, sometimes the Bollywood movie writers blend their story with the cricket themes. A movie based on cricket always collects a lot of profits and earning at the box office as the mixture of Bollywood and cricket is the pulse of the audience.  So when this excitement is mixed with Bollywood the outcome is bound to be epic. Keeping this in mind, we have compiled a list of movies that should be on every cricket fans.

1. Patiala House:


It is about a guy who is living the life his father chose for him. He had been good at cricket and wanted to play for England though his dad would never let him become a member of the England team. He was always alone until love enters his life.

2. Chain Kulii ki Main Kulii:

Chain Kulii ki Main Kulii

It stars Zain Khan and Rahul Bose in the leads. The film’s title is taken from lines spoken by Amitabh Bachchan’s character in the 1982 film Satte Pe Satta. The film is based on the Hollywood movie Like Mike in which a 13-year-old boy finds sneakers once belonging to NBA legend Michael Jordan.

3. Lagaan:


The iconic film made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker teaches us teamwork in the most amazing way. The story of a pre-independent India where a young man from a small village accepts the challenge to play against the well-trained British in their own game is an absolute delight to watch.

4. Kai Po Che!


Set in Ahmedabad, the story revolves around three friends, Ishaan (Sushant Singh Rajput), Omi (Amit Sadh) and Govind (Raj Kumar Yadav), who want to start their own sports shop and sports academy. The film tracks their deep friendship, and innocence tarnished by religious politics and communal hatred, which results in their fallout, and an eventual death.

5. Say Salaam India:


Realistic movie involving school cricket which was deglamourised, perhaps intentionally. The movie narrates a perpetual contest between Royal Heritage School and Adarsh Vidya Mandir. Hari Sadu (Sanjay Suri) tries to coach Royal Heritage School, but cannot come to terms with the boys’ ostentatious and lazy attitude, and is replaced by Harry Oberoi (Milind Soman). Hari moves to Adarsh Vidya Mandir, who win one match after the other to meet with Royal Heritage School in the final, where they face biased umpiring and other hurdles. For once, the match does not end in a huge six.

6. Ferrari ki Sawari:


The movie is about a young boy who trys to find a legendary cricket player’s Ferrari and how his dreams of playing cricket at Lords come true.

7. Jannat:


The film is all about match-fixing, an interesting topic to begin with. Emraan Hashmi plays the main lead. To a major extent, his character is addicted to match fixing, however, in the movie he has to decide between his love for fast money and his true love.

8. Victory:


The story is all about a middle-class family boy, who wants to join the Indian cricket team and is very good at the game as well. Successfully he gets a chance in the team and makes a lot of fame. When stardom captures him, he leaves all the things behind and concentrates all the time making money.

9.  Dhoni – The Untold Story:


The movie has not been released till now, but the audience is waiting for the release. The movie will be completely based on the life and struggle of Indian cricket team captain M S Dhoni. His journey with some secrets of his life to a successful cricketer can be seen in the movie. Sushant Singh Rajput will play the role of M S Dhoni and Alia Bhatt will be playing the role of Sakshi Dhoni.

10. Azhar:


Sportsmen & biopics are surely the flavor of the season. This time Emraan Hashmi is all set to put on his cricketing gear to play ex Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin. A shocking divorce, a clandestine affair with a sportswoman, death of a son & accusations of match fixing. Actors Nargis Fakhri & Prachi Deshmukh a part of the cast too.
