Lenovo has launched its budget Vibe K5 Plus smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 8,499. The smartphone will be available from Flipkart on March 23, starting 12pm IST. The smartphone is being marketed as the successor to the Lenovo A6000 and Lenovo A6000Plus, and India is its first launch market. The company also announced that on the day of the sale, an exchange and upgrade offer will be available for existing Lenovo A6000 and A6000 Plus users. The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus was launched alongside Lenovo Vibe K5 the in Barcelona. The only difference between the two smartphones is in the display resolution and SoC. They run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The highlight of the smartphones are their Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo speakers and aluminium casing.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus features the TheatreMax technology with Dolby Audio support. Lenovo had earlier launched the TheatreMax technology in the K4 Note smartphone. The smartphone can be simply inserted into the headset, like GoogleCardboard, to enhance cinematic experience, powered by TheaterMax. It will automatically convert all video content on a smartphone into a theatre style one.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus consists of a 5 inch Full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. The handset is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage of the smartphone stands at 16GB which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The dual sim smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports 4G LTE bands in India. On the camera front, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens and a 5MP front camera.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus will be available in Gold, Platinum, Silver and Graphite Grey colour options. The smartphone goes on sale exclusively on Flipkart from March 23.
