South African batsman Hashim Amla is all set to replace injured Australian Shaun Marsh for the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League 2016. Hashim Amla, who went unsold at the auction earlier this year, will replace Shaun Marsh, who has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL due to a back injury. According to a report on ESPNCricinfo, KXIP have got the clearance for Hashim Amla and he will be joining the side soon.
Shaun Marsh joined the long list of Australian cricketers, who all have pulled out of the cash-rich Indian Premier League tournament. The 32-year-old veteran is suffering from a back injury and will not take any further part for Kings XI Punjab in the cash-rich league as he joins his younger brother Mitchell Marsh (side strain), Australia captain Steve Smith (wrist) and John Hastings (ankle), who have been ruled out of the IPL.
Marsh had been carrying a discomfort since KXIP’s game in April 19 against Kolkata Knight Riders, but continued to play next match against Gujarat Lions. Presently KXIP are grow weak at the bottom of points table with two wins from seven matches. KXIP batting will be boosted with Hashim Amla joining the squad, who has a decent record in the T20Is. Hashim Amla has played in 88 T20s scoring 2446 runs at an average of 31.35.
