After a loss to New Zealand in their opening game, India found their footing with a Virat Kohli masterclass against Pakistan. a confident India will look for another victory and inch closer to the semifinals of the World T20 when they take on struggling Bangladesh on Today at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. They will face a Bangladesh side, reeling from two defeats, to add to the absence of Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny.
Indian team would look to ensure that it wins big to improve its Net Run Rate, which took a hit owing to the New Zealand loss. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are on the verge of being knocked out of the event and a win on Wednesday would go a long way in giving them a mathematical chance of making the last four stage. However, a close look at the current form of the two teams would make India outright favorites for the match even though Bangladesh have built a reputation of upstaging big teams in big events.
Ashish Nehra said:
“We are very confident, In this format everybody knows, from game one more or less, every game is a knockout game. Only two teams will quality, there is a possibility out of four games you win three still you won’t qualify, the format is such. So until the time you lift the trophy, every game is a knockout game, there is not too much room for error.”
“The mood is good. The kind of cricket we have been playing the last two or three months, we have seen how many T20s we have played, so hopefully the kind of firepower we have, if we deliver we will definitely win the game.”
The bowling, led by R Ashwin, looks in good shape, with Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja giving support. Nehra has been effective in the Power-plays, while Bumrah has hit the block hole regularly in the slog overs in addition to bowling well with the new ball.
