In 2016, Indian Team has achieved a lot. On one side, Virat Kohli became the third most successful Indian Captian in Test Cricket and on the other he had made the position of the top scorer in all the three formats this year.

If we talk about test cricket then, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja had the best performance as all-rounders. After 42 years, the top two positions of the best bowler in test cricket were Conquered by Ashwin and Jadeja.

Kohli is Half way down to Dhoni in Test.

In the captaincy of Virat, India has not lost even a single match. Due to this, he has become the third most successful Indian Captian in Test Cricket. Dhoni is on the top of the list with 27 wins while Virat has won 14 matches out of 22 matches he played like a captain. Sourav Ganguly holds the second position with 21 wins. Kohli has leveled Mohd. Azhar with 14 wins in just two years. That’s why he has passed him in the record.

India as No.1 Team in Test Cricket

India remained in the top position of the Test Rankings in December 2016. Then comes Australia and Pakistan. Captaincy of Kohli and outstanding performances of new Indian talent helped India to maintain the first spot on the list.

Kohli became the top scorer and beaten Joe Root.

This year Kohli became the top scorer in all formats. After eight years, someone from India has taken this spot. Sehwag in 2008, was the former top scorer from India with 2355 runs. Kohli made 2595 runs this year. He played 37 matches in all three formats, scored seven centuries and 13 half-centuries with the highest score of 235. English batsman Joe Root holds the second spot with 2570 runs in 41 matches.

Top all-rounder performance by Ashwin-Jadeja Duo

Ashwin took 97 wickets this year in all formats. Before this Anil Kumble in 1996 took 90 wickets and Kapil Dev in 1983 took 100 record wickets. India is lucky to have all-rounders like Ashwin and Jadeja who are not only best in bowling but are capable of holding the Indian back with their batting too.

Second Indian to hit triple century after Sehwag

After Viru, Karun Nair is the only Indian batsman to hit a triple century. He was 303 not out in his 3rd test match against England. Indian squad must be proud to have such talent in the team.

After defeating England in a test series with 4-0, India addressed its biggest win over England after 23 years. Before this, under the captaincy of Mohd. Azharuddin in 1992-93 India beaten England by 3-0
