Well, staying healthy and fit is crucial and extremely important. You definitely need a good workout session to achieve this, which implies getting up early every single morning. Now, what if you are simply not a morning person or let’s be straight that you are downright lazy. Getting out of your bed early in the morning for gym or jogging session does not sound pleasant for most of us (let’s face it).

This post by no means is intended to bring your spirits down. In fact, there is some good news for you. What if I said that you can burn calories without even leaving your bed? Yes, I am not joking. Here are few simple exercises that you can do in your bed every morning and stay hale and hearty.

1. Planking –

Planking is the best exercise for the flat tummy. It also strengthens your abdominal muscles and tones your thighs and calf muscles. Start by getting into a push-up position. Now place your elbows at 90 degrees and rest your entire body weight on your forearms. Remain in this position for as long as you can and keep on repeating.

2. Locust Pose –

Lie on your stomach and place your arms under the thighs. Your chin should be touching your mattress, and in this position lift both your legs upward as you inhale. Hold the position for a minute and exhale slowly to return to your start position. This exercise helps to build up the muscles of your spine, buttocks, and legs.

3. Jack Splits –

Lie on your back and keep your thumbs interlocked and feet together. Now slowly lift your legs and upper part of the body to form a V. Simultaneously lift your arms to cross through the V. Perform this repetition at least 20 times. Jack splits helps to tone your lower and upper abs.

4. Crunches –

Lie on your back and keep your knees bent with feet touching the floor. Put your hands behind your head with elbows pointing sideways. Now gently curl up forward to lift your upper body off the floor. Hold in this position for a moment and then slowly back down. Repeat this 10-20 times. Crunches help to burn calories and achieve your dream washboard abs.

5. Stretches –

Last but not the least, stretching helps to make your body more flexible. This lowers the risk of getting injuries while you perform other exercises. So, every morning stretch your body like a baby, right in your bed.

I hope this post has made your day. Tag your friends who are lazy bums to share this awesome news. It’s aptly quoted as ‘You don’t get the ass you want by simply sitting on it’. Have a good day!
