Four people were killed and three others injured when a building collapsed during an anti-encroachment drive in Meerut Cantonment area of Uttar Pradesh on 8 July. The incident happened when a building collapsed during the drive and people got trapped under the rubble. Board reached at the site and asked the people to vacate their homes.
According to DNA reports, authorities were conducting a demolition drive of illegally constructed shopping complex. Injured people have been rushed to nearby hospital.
A 42-member NDRF team was rushed to the spot to rescue the people and control the situation, reported ANI. family members of the deceased have registered a police complaint against the officials of the Board. An angry people also attacked the Meerut Cantt board office following the incident, according to reports NDTV.
