In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old man who was knocked down by a speeding tempo in west Delhi’s Subhash Nagar died on the road but no one came to his help despite several passersby seeing him in pain and one of them even went near him to take away his mobile phone, police said. the victim, identified as Matibool, a resident of West Bengal.
The whole incident was captured on a CCTV camera, The footage shows the driver of the tempo coming out of his vehicle after hitting the victim. But after checking on the damage caused to the vehicle, gets back into the tempo and drives off. The video also showed that another rickshaw driver came near him and took away his phone.
According to Hindustan Times report, The accident took place around 5:30am but was reported only around 7am. A police team reached the spot and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared him brought dead, stating that he had died due to excessive bleeding.
The police said that the victim, Matibul, was from West Bengal. He used to work as a security guard at an office in Subhash Nagar.
