Sixteen years ago when youngsters were busy enjoying reading Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe was creating a hell ton of cash while bringing their favourite character to life. Daniel was only 10 when he got casted for the role and now, five years after the final Harry Potter film hit the screens, the star revealed that he hasn’t touched the money, which is estimated to be close to $100 million he made from the Harry Potter Series.
In a recent interview with Belfast Telegraph, the actor said he has barely touched his Harry Potter fortune. He added, “I’m terribly grateful for it, as a result of having cash means that you don’t need to worry about it, that may be a terribly beautiful freedom to possess. It conjointly provides Pine Tree State huge freedom, career-wise.”
He even said, people with money in the bank can sleep a little easier at night knowing they could weather an unexpected financial setback and afford more home and pursue new job opportunities if their boss turns out to be a real He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
According to CBS News, Radcliffe reportedly made $95 million (Rs 632 crore) from the whole Harry Potter film series, earned $145,000 (Rs 96 lakh) from the first Harry Potter film back in 2001. By the final films, he was making around $20 million per film.
Post Harry Potter film franchise, the actor selected to experiment with many roles. He even appeared on a not so popular TV show, A Young Doctor’s Notebook. Later he did films like What If, Victor Frankenstein, Kill Your Darling, Imperium and Swiss Army Man, Horns and all of his roles had unicity.
