Dev Patel’s search for his home in the latest trailer of ‘LION’ is an emotional journey

The Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel has recently released the trailer of his upcoming movie ‘Lion’. The movie is based on a real life story of Saroo Brierley, Born in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, who got separated from his family at the age of five, got adopted by an Australian couple and then finds his real parents at the age of 25 using Google Earth.

Dev Patel will be playing Saroon in the movie adaptation, while Nicole Kidman and David Wenham plays his adopted parents from Australia. Rooney Mara plays his girlfriend. The film follows Saroo’s journey to trace his real family, Saroo is five when his elder brother tells him to wait by a railway yard one night. Falling asleep in a carriage, he is carried away from home in a train.

The movie was made by Weinstein Company, with Harvey Weinstein talking it up as an Oscars contender. Lion was directed by Garth Davis, written by Luke Davies and produced by Angie Fielder, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman. Lion opens is set to release on November 25.

Dev Patel’s ‘Lion’ is all set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and will also be screened at the London Film Festival in October.
