Deepika Padukone’s new Nike ad gores viral on social media. Nike India has launched an ad campaign titled ‘Da Da Ding’ which shows women playing various sport from cricket, badminton to basketball among many others.

Nike has featured Deepika Padukone along with Indian female sports stars including Joshna Chinappa, Shweta Hakke, Rani Rampal, Gabriella Demetriades, Ishita Malaviya, Jaie Bhadane, Naina Mansukhani, Swetha Subbiah, Jyoti Ann Burrett and Tanvie Hans.

Nike ad film is created by American advertising agency ‘Wieden+Kennedy’ in Delhi. Speaking on the inception of the idea, Mohamed Rizwan, Creative Director Wieden+Kennedy says, “Nike wanted to talk to girls to get them interested in sports. During our research, we realized that the way people talk about women in sports in India is very sad.”

Wieden+Kennedy also added, “The image is very depressing when compared to men in sports. Most of the stories on women athletes are on how they struggled to get to the top. However, they do not want to be spoken about that way and we found out that there is a new imagery, they wanted to be modern and make sports more fun while being easily accessible, sexy and cool”.

Deepika Padukone tells how she has learned to withstand depression and failure through sports. She is seen playing tennis in the video of Nike. Padukone Padukone’s Facebook video views had crossed 2 million.
