A Bollywood stuntwoman, Geeta Tandon has been the body double of everyone from Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone to Kareena Kapoor. A normal day for her comprises driving a car into fire, jumping from heights, or simply riding a bike into the wind while doing a wheelie. But, and this is what really inspires us to even greater levels, she’s also a hero in real life.

The stirring narrative follows Geeta talking about her life from the age of 15 when she was married off to an alcoholic and from then on the torment of daily abuse and rape began. A brave Geeta decided to walk out of the marriage at the age of 20 with two young children in tow without shelter or financial aid. She got through odd jobs and was almost duped into becoming a commercial sex worker but her strength and resilience never wavered.

Geeta refused to give into society’s ugly belly and built a career and life for herself and her children on her principles. But years of abuse made her never take that road. Instead she cooked and cleaned until one fine day, she got to know about a vacancy for a stuntwoman’s job. She took it up without any training. She got injured but she did not give up. Today, after being in the industry for years, she is very successful and aspires to be India’s first female action director.

Geeta’s story is one that not only makes you shudder at parts, but also makes you realize that if you don’t give up and if you don’t agree to settle for less, you will always find a way to get what you want. Her story inspires us and we hope it inspires you. Watch the full video here:

Geeta Tandon’s mother died when she was 10-years old, and she was forced into a marriage at the age of 15.

Talking about the video, Geeta Tandon said, Main 15 saal kit hi jab meri shaadi ho gayi. Mujhe sex-vex ke bare mein kuch nahi pata tha. Mere saamne meri mother-in-law ne mere husband ko bola, ‘kapde faad ke rape karde iska, main dekhti hoon kya karegi!’Raat ko peg banaata tha, aur jhaapad maarta tha…kitni baar mere kapde faad ke mujhe bahaar fainkne ki koshish kari! Pregnancy ke teesre mahine mein mere pet pe ghutna rakh deta tha, cylinder utha ke maarta tha. Main kisi tarah bhaag ke police station gayi..police waalon ne kaha, behen ke ghar jaake raho 10 din..pati apne aap theek ho jaayega! ‘

Main do bachchon ko pakad ke bhaag rahi thi aur mera pati talwar leke mere peeche bhaag raha tha! Main dono bachchon ko leke Gurudware mein rehne chali gayi!”

A new video, by BLUSH YouTube channel, tells the hard-hitting and extremely inspiring story of this bad-ass woman. You would think her life simply entails jumping from tall buildings or driving a burning car through a glass wall, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this incredible woman. The short film, titled Geeta, reveals a gut-wrenching tale of how she survived domestic abuse, raised two children as a single mother and built a successful career. Geeta’s story is both soul-stirring and motivating and proves that one should never underestimate the power of a mom on a mission.

Geeta Tandon has a message for everybody, that life comes with ups & downs and so many problems, but never ever think of suicide, as life is precious.
