Indian cricketer Karun Nair made a narrow escape after the snake boat with 100 passengers capsized in river Pampa at Kerala. Two persons went missing after a ‘Palliyodam’ capsized in Pampa river during the famous ‘Aranmula Vallasadya’ (boat feast) on July 17. The missing have been identified as Vishnu and Rajiv. Officials and locals launched a search for the missing persons.
Karun Nair along with the others were taking part in a temple festival, “Valla Sadya’, a celebration of the Sree Parthasarathy Temple. Speaking to IANS, an official attached to the Aranmula Police station confirmed that Karun Nair was in the snake boat.
According to TOI, The accident took place at 11.45 am when the boat was about to reach near Aranmula temple for the offering. The rescue boats soon reached the spot and took the people on board.

Karun Nair, who hails from the state, plays for Karnataka and was in the recent Indian team which toured Zimbabwe.
