An incident has come up in Chandigarh where a woman from Chandigarh has stated her horrifying experience of almost being kidnapped. The 29-year old victim has shared the dreadful experience on Facebook. One of the two people involved in stalking the victim is the Haryana BJP president’s son. She realized on her way back home that an SUV was following her. The accused have been identified as Vikas Barala, son of the Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala and Ashish Kumar. They have been charged under the IPC section 354 D and 185 for drunken driving.

She has narrated the whole incident about the night like how she tried to escape them, where all she turned to avoid them.
They overtook her vehicle and blocked her way and then Ashish headed towards her. The girl sped away and a turn, but they again managed to find her. Later, she dialed the police helpline number, explained the situation and sent her exact location. She has acknowledged the police in her post for their instant action.
She has shared the state of panic, she was going through.
At a point when Ashish managed to band her window, she saw a PCR vehicle, and the cops nabbed the culprits. Her father is an AS officer and after she reached home, they headed straight to the police station to lodge a FIR.
She has stated that, if such incidents can happen in a secure city like Chandigarh then it can happen anywhere. People are no longer scared of police on every 200 meters just because they are from influential families. She feels lucky that she managed to get through the situation.
She has sent out a message for all the women in the society saying, “LADIES! Please be proactive about your own safety; NOTE THE NUMBER OF ANY VEHICLE THAT TRIES TO HARASS YOU. DON’T BE AFRAID to call the cops, The minute it starts! Call your parents, if possible, and let them know where you are and the situation you’re in. Try and run away, in the safest way possible. YOUR LIFE IS PARAMOUNT! If he walks towards you, use whatever you can as a weapon.”
