The season has already seen some stunning catches and saves but the save by Ben Cutting in the second semifinal between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Lions has left everyone stunned. It was the fifteenth over of the match and Barinder Sran was bowling to Aaron Finch. Sran bowled a full length delivery to Aaron Finch to which Aaron hit the shot for six. Ben Cutting, standing in the outfield for Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped up and back, grabbing the ball from almost a metre behind the rope before throwing it back inside the field of play and then landing hard on the ground.
Ben Cutting earned little reward for his incredible effort beyond the satisfaction of knowing he’d saved five runs for his team.
Ben Cutting at the mid-wicket boundary, leapt, stretching himself to full, to seize the ball aerial. In the air, he was outside the ropes, but showing great presence of mind and skills, threw the ball inside and saved five runs for his team. This has to be one of the greatest pieces of fielding ever seen.
This has to be one of the greatest pieces of fielding ever seen. *Mind Blown*

In an age where brilliant diving saves and one-handed catches are just about par for the course, Cutting’s effort still stands a cut above just about everything else we’ve seen in the 2016 edition of the IPL.
Ben Cutting jumped over the line, pushed the ball back before landing. The brilliant piece of fielding saved runs that proved to be crucial in the final over of the match.
One of the great classics. He will go down in the books of cricket history as a record for saving what could have been a magnificent sixer. Great presence of mind indeed. Special award by words only from our side & all great lovers of cricket.
