Two young girls in Banglore has done a very good job on Tuesday. The girls have saved a newborn baby girl who was left in their society. Maithri Manjunathan who is expert in technology works in Banglore city. When she reached home after work on Tuesday around 9:30 PM, some of the people told her that somebody had left a newborn baby girl on the footpath of their complex. After she had got this news, she rushed to the baby and saw her full of blood lying on the floor naked. Maithri asked for help to the people who were around, but no one helped her. In a hurry she called her friend Sushma Sathyanarayana, she lives in the same complex. Both the young girls called 108 and took the newborn girl to the hospital. They took her at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health Hospital, and the doctors said the baby would survive, then they were calm.
Maithri said, “We asked the people in the apartment, especially the men, if they could accompany us to the hospital. But nobody wanted to get involved in the case. They just stood there clicking photos.” Sushma added,“The doctors were very helpful. They immediately started treating the baby and told us that we had brought her just in time, which had saved her life. Those words made all the effort worthwhile. We were so happy to know the baby would be fine.”
They informed to the police, and soon the child’s mother was found in nearby bastee(slum). When they asked her mother she said, she is a widow and has two kids who are grown up. She didn’t want this baby, so she left her in the complex.
The Police asked Sushma and Maithri to get involve in this and talk to the mother. Convince the mother to take the baby girl and both the girls did it but still, they are not sure that the women will take care of the little girl.
