Balika Vadhu has set a national record by getting featured in the Limca Book of Records as the longest running daily fiction soap. Over 2,000 episodes of Balika Vadhu have been telecast so far. The Rajasthan set show began witth the life of young bride Anandi and then slowly included the journey of her daughter Nandini.

The show connected with the audience instantly and became a hit. The characters looked real, as the actors gave life to the show, with their impressive performances. Avika Gor, who made a debut with the program as a child actor, became a household name, with her nailing the character of a little village girl who gets married in childhood.

The show began by examine into the social issue of child marriages. It traced the life of young bride Anandi, whose life goes through ups and downs after she is married at a young age to Jagdish. Her trials, troubles and her fight against the social system forms the crux of the story, which has now moved to telling her the journey of her daughter Nandini.

The show, which had two seasons titled ‘Balika Vadhu Kachchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte’ and ‘Balika Vadhu Lamhe Pyaar Ke’ is one of the most popular daily soaps running on television and has many honor to its credit.
