Auli, is an important ski destination in the Himalayan mountains of Uttarakhand, India. The state is also called “Dev Bhoomi” which means “Land of Gods” as there are important pilgrimage destinations in the state of Uttarakhand, mainly the ‘CHAR DHAM”.
It is like a dream come true when you reach Auli though it is a long and messy journey, but after looking at the beauty of the place, feeling the cool fresh air on our face only one word would come out of your mouth that is WOW…Reaching Auli is not that tough, you just have to take a train to Haridwar from Chandigarh, if you are from Chandigarh like me, after reaching there you can travel with the local people in local transport from Haridwar to Joshimath.
When you reach Joshimath you will come to know that the roads to Auli are closed if you are travelling in winters, so the only way to reach Auli is by cable car and there comes one of the most amazing fact of the trip that is the cable car rope way, which is the longest cable car ropeway in Asia, at that moment you will realize that this trip is going to be more than awesome. In winters due to heavy snow fall the roads to Badrinath, Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib are closed and only ski lovers and snow fall lovers come to visit this place but during summer it gets quite crowded with the bulk of tourists heading to the religious centers.
